New kindergarten in modular design

Kindergarten in modular design - without container character

One of the most challenging tasks in a city administration is certainly daycare centre planning. This is because reliable planning over a period of more than two or three years is hardly possible. Often, adjustments have to be made much earlier because the demand is greater than expected. This was also the case for a municipality in Bavaria, which had to create 50 additional places within a short space of time. The local authority sought advice from local architects and came to the conclusion that a permanent building would not be feasible in terms of time or cost. So they came up with the solution of Kindergarten in modular construction The new building is to be constructed with an additional roof and a façade in front of the "Container character" minimised should be.

As early as the planning phase, contact was sought with the company PH Container GmbH in Schwabach in order to find a solution that was both technically feasible and affordable. The project ultimately comprised a Kindergarten building with around 500 m2divided into four group rooms, a bedroom, an office, kitchen and recreation rooms as well as child-friendly toilets and washbasins. Great importance was attached to the fact that Bright and friendly rooms are created. Large aluminium windows with external blinds were chosen for this and environmentally friendly linoleum flooring was laid. A suspended acoustic ceiling was installed for sound insulation. A rear-ventilated façade made of larch rhombus mouldings was installed on the outside. An additional pent roof rounded off the facility. The lead time for the project was 12 weeks and after only 3 weeks after delivery the new kindergarten was handed over to the community. The kindergarten opened just in time for the new school year.
