Modular kindergarten - cost-effective, fast and uncomplicated solution thanks to container construction

In Pfarrweisachin the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge, the local daycare centre "Pfiffikus" was bursting at the seams. The municipality, represented by the first Mayor Markus OppeltThe local authority therefore invited tenders at the end of August 2020 for the construction of a container building to accommodate a kindergarten group in the medium term. This is intended to supplement the current public daycare centre diagonally opposite. Designed as a medium-term interim solution for 15 years, the daycare centre was given a Looking for a fast, flexible container solution. PH Container was able to meet the specifications precisely and was awarded the contract for the project in autumn 2020. In a record time of just 4 months, it was finally possible to realise a Modular kindergarten was realised that met all requirements. Covering a total of just under 190 square metres, the building houses a group room, a quiet room, rooms for staff, sanitary facilities and a cloakroom. With a total purchase price of 300,000 euros, the community was able to find a cost-effective, quick and uncomplicated solution thanks to the modular kindergarten. Modular kindergarten handed over fully functional and ready for operation

The contract awarded included planning services, deliveries, services and ancillary services, so that PH-Container ended up with a Fully functional and operational system handed over to the municipality of Pfarrweisach could. The container building was assembled from nine room modules. The daycare centre measures approx. 18 m in length and approx. 11.50 m in width. This results in a total enclosed space of 192 square metres. This area was divided into 9 rooms. The entrance area has a spacious cloakroom, which at approx. 22 square metres also offers enough space for pushchairs (see pictures).

The kindergarten container has two large group rooms totalling 90 m², which provide sufficient space for the kindergarten group. The first has a mini kitchen with base unit, sink, fridge, double hotplate and 5-litre electric boiler. A Relaxation room offers enough space for the group and can be Darkened with blinds can be used as a bedroom. An office accessible from the outside is used for administration and staff. The approx. 15 square metre sanitary facilities are divided into a staff WC and a larger bathroom. Sanitary area for the kindergarten children. Three washbasins complete the picture and have been lowered so that they can be used by all children. The toilet area is fitted with grey marbled floor tiles. The heating system and all necessary connections are located in a separate utility room.

Modular kindergarten with open, bright rooms and spacious outdoor area

The detached single-storey building is surrounded by a spacious outdoor area to find. The quick and uncomplicated access in and out of the building encourages outdoor play and exploration. The outdoor facilities and their design were carried out by the local authority and cost an additional 100,000 euros, meaning that the total cost of the construction work was around 400,000 euros.

The outer walls are clad with rhombus strips made of Siberian larch wood, which are attached to a galvanised profiled sheet with a U-shaped profiled steel wall frame. This gives the facility a friendly appearance and does not reveal the container design (see pictures). The interior walls consist of whitewashed fire-retardant panelling made of drywall plasterboard and a mineral wool insulation insert. The floor is covered with a high-quality, light-coloured linoleum floor. The ceilings are fitted with an acoustic ceiling to create a pleasant room volume and ensure sound insulation.

High-quality fixtures and fittings in the kindergarten container too

The modular kindergarten has a total of Eight exterior doors There is a larger main entrance that leads to the cloakroom. This means that escape routes are available for all rooms in the detached ground-floor building, so that a fire protection concept was not required. The High-quality aluminium entrance door rounds off the appearance. Like all other doors, it is fitted with an anti-panic lock and anti-trap protection. Doors that lead to the outside area are glazed and therefore also allow for Natural light and an uninterrupted view outside. Heating is provided by radiators installed in the rooms and draws its heating energy from a gas condensing boiler. The building complies with the current GEG guidelines (see pictures).

Community extremely satisfied with new modular kindergarten

The modular kindergarten was built with a Flat pitched monopitch roof and a steel canopy at the main entrance. A steel canopy was also installed at the main entrance. Drainage takes place via an external gutter and soakaway. The site was developed by the local authority and is almost level. This meant that Point foundations as a stable base. From cooperation to planning and ordering to realisation, all parties were extremely satisfied with the new Kindergarten in modular construction.
